Palin Detained at Airport
September 5, 2008 (Minneapolis-St. Paul MN) - Republican vice presidential nominee and Alaska Governor Sarah Palin was detained briefly at the Minneapolis St. Paul International airport after security personnel discovered several “suspicious items” in her upswept hairdo. Among the items were a mooseburger, a polar bear cub, a hockey stick, a Bible and a Glock semi-automatic pistol.
The Alaska governor reportedly laughed off the incident, telling security officers that she often carries items in her hair to save on luggage costs, and that every Alaskan carries a gun in case of a grizzly bear attack or terrorist strike. She was detained for about 60 minutes until Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff personally ordered her release.
Asked about the incident by reporters, the Alaska governor snapped “Why are you in the liberal media always hounding me and my family? Can’t you respect our privacy?” The governor then uncovered her left breast and began nursing Trig, her four-month-old son.
