Salahis Crash North Korean Dinner
November 29, 2009 (Pyongyang) - Perennial party crashers Michaele and Tareq Salahi, whose uninvited appearance at President Obama’s first state dinner raised serious questions about White House security, are again making international headlines. The wealthy couple and aspiring reality TV stars reportedly traveled to Pyongyang and crashed a dinner held Friday night by North Korean President Kim Jong Il. The couple has not been seen since.
The AP has been unable to confirm rumors that the Salahis were shot trying to sneak into the presidential palace.
The Korean Central News Agency refused to comment on the couple’s whereabouts, saying only that, “State dinners are for invited dignitaries and women of pleasure only. Trespassers will be escorted away, preferably in a horizontal and lifeless position.”
In response to a query from the U.S. State Department, President Kim said, “I was delighted to have them for dinner. Michaele was especially delicious.”
